About:

Georgian large natural cherry amber ring.
Circa 1830 late Georgian, early victorian.
Fantastic piece of cherry amber which is a foiled back, reflecting the inclusions and colour through the amber, housed in a 9ct gold setting
The amber is 22.5 X 15mm in size.
29 individual spliced pearls (seed pearls) measuring 2.8mm in diameter each surrounding the amber.

This ring it truly unique and is such a statement ring at a dinner party which is bound to create conversation.

At nearly 200 years old, it's amazing to imagine what this ring has seen throughout its time!

Condition:

The amber has a few signs of damage; one little chip on the descent gradient of the corner which I believe could easily be remedied by a professional using a coloured resin mix ( although I prefer to leave it untouched)
There is also a couple of raised spots which look like possible period infills.
The ring is very safe to wear and the pearls and amber is very securely set.
A fantastic example of a quality Georgian piece of jewellery, although the shank matches perfectly, it would likely have been a brooch when it was made although there is no evidence of any conversion.

Materials:

The shank isn't marked, but professionally tested as 9ct solid gold.
Amber
Seed pearls
