A beautiful 18ct Yellow art Nouveau opal and diamond sweetheart ring
This authentic and original Art Nouveau ring dates to the later 19th/early 20th century
The shape resembles the four cardinal points and could have been given by a sailor/soldier before going to war as the diamonds would show that he was there at each four corners of the globe ( cardinal points) and she would be the opal he was protecting.
Marked for 18ct gold and has been professionally tested also.
Opal has some nice colours when it catches the light and has a good opalescence aswell rather than being too white.
Diamonds are old mine cut and set in platinum bezels with a millegrain edge hand tooled decoration.
All original natural stones
Condition:
Ultrasonically cleaned and professionally re-polished
Amazing condition and no damage so fantastic considering its over 100 years old
