An exceptional handmade platinum flower brooch, set with over 2.50ct of natural old cut diamonds and approximately 0.75ct of rich blue sapphires.

Dating to circa the 1930s–1950s, this is a beautifully preserved original piece with no repairs noted. The use of platinum is particularly notable, as brooches of this type were more commonly made in gold due to platinum being significantly more difficult to work with. Its handmade construction and substantial weight give the piece a wonderful sense of quality and craftsmanship.

The floral design is set throughout with bright, colourless natural old cut diamonds, all securely mounted and displaying the softer, individual sparkle associated with antique hand-cut stones. Deep blue sapphires provide a striking contrast, set in a combination of rub-over and claw settings.

Further detail is added by channel-set baguette cut diamonds running through the stem, giving the brooch a refined geometric element alongside the softer floral design.

The piece is unmarked but has been professionally XRF tested and confirmed as platinum. Measuring approximately 55mm in length and 28mm at its widest point, it has a strong presence while remaining elegant and highly wearable.

A secure pin fastening with safety catch completes the design, making this a superb example of original period fine jewellery.
